Safety and Training
Before EVERY flight:
Secure transmitter frequency at frequency control board. Check the receiver and battery pack with a voltmeter to insure enough charge. Check the control throw direction of all surfaces. Check your transmitter to be sure switches were not accidentally thrown to the wrong position. If you have a multi-model transmitter, check is set to correct model. Start the engine and test the entire throttle range.
Please – Some Important Reminders and Field Etiquette.
Impound your radio & clip your AMA Card to your corresponding channel frequency on the pin board. If you are using a new 2.4 GHz radio, clip your AMA card somewhere on the radio impound board. Stay behind the flight line when others are flying. When multiple persons are flying, gas and glow airplane pilots stay together on the north end of the runway. Helicopters and electrics may fly from the south runway end - but remember to stay back far enough to allow for take-off and landing error for airplanes. Do not fly past the pole on the south end of the field! Do not fly behind the flight line! Do not fly - or ask a member if you can fly - if you have not renewed you AMA membership and club dues. Please respect the rules of our organization! Remove all trash and containers you bring when you leave the field. Lock the gate when you leave - but not before checking that all unauthorized persons are out if they have vehicles parked over by the boardwalk.
